Not surprisingly, @ElieNYC argues that the Kavanaugh #SCOTUS vote should be delayed. My Q: why did @SenFeinstein sit on this letter for weeks? It should have been raised much earlier, so it could have been addressed at the #KavanaughConfirmationHearings.https://twitter.com/atlblog/status/1040314643925880832 …

From what I've seen--somebody correct me if I'm wrong--she said nothing about it because the person didn't want to come forward. Press got it, and she's confirmed it with minimal detail. Unless she leaked it (which would've happened earlier, IMHO), what else should she have done?

If the claims are serious and well supported, then @SenFeinstein will want to show that she (1) encouraged the person to come forward and (2) promised to have her back if she did. (But this is getting speculative; I think I'm going to stop now.)

I agree with that in principle--but I can understand if Feinstein is deliberately releasing as little information as possible, for both Kavanaugh's and the woman's sake. I similarly understand if the GOP doesn't change anything based on this; there's no information to act upon.

You're right, I now see @SenFeinstein's statement: “That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision." (I guess the Q is: how strongly, & what was senator's response.)

A delay would permit our extraordinarily ordinary crop of Senators to further embarrass themselves and, ordinarily, i would support the idea; however since incompetence and insanity doesn’t seem to carry any consequences in our partisan idiocracy, fuck that.

There are 2 likely possibilities. 1) The allegation isn’t credible and they delayed releasing it because of skepticism. 2) the allegation might be credible and they waited to release it in the hope that he withdraws and no one can be confirmed before the midterms.

I'd pull Kavanaugh and give them the "extremist" they're mistaking him for. Their behavior merits some form of punishment. Why did people elect these attention-starved babies? This is an embarrassment.

You have the roles mixed up; the questions go to the nominee not the senators. If there is nothing to investigate, there should be no problem. Certainly the GOP senators will vote for him no matter what negative information might be revealed. See, e.g., Jim Jordan.

Jim Jordan was a liberal fabrication. Trump collusion is fabrication. Latest Kavanaugh Hail Mary is fabricated. There has been nothing that has been proven yet. And nothing that will be. Try winning an election. Don’t think impeach trump is much of a platform. But go for it.

I am neither a liberal or conservative. In my world there are allegations and investigations and evidence. Accordingly, I do think that allegations should be investigated rather than dismissed out of hand. Finally, college wrestlers are not necessarily liberals or fabricators.

Jordan has denied knowing anything about the rampant and widespread sexual abuse at OSU. There is no evidence that any "liberal" had anything to do with the wrestlers coming forward about what they saw Jordan observe on a regular basis. Do you have any such evidence?

As much as you’ve got that he did something. Jordan doesn’t have to prove anything. His accusers do.
