And he even offered to have his memory refreshed by whatever email or other doc @KamalaHarris might have; he wasn't trying to hide anything. Very strange why she didn't do a big reveal if it's so juicy. #SCOTUS #KavanaughHearingshttps://twitter.com/senatorshoshana/status/1037511476246978560 …

This question is asinine. Asking Kavanaugh to remember anyone at one of many law firms in D.C. he discussed something in the news with. Come on. Thank you @SenMikeLee for pointing this out.

@senatorshoshana -- In fact, the lack of reveal suggests it isn't juicy at all. It's a compound question -- as any prosecutor or defense lawyer would recognize. The firm has 200+ lawyers (http://www.kasowitz.com/people/all/ ) and presumably an equivalent number of staff.

That would be a legitimate answer (as would the slightly better "not that I'm aware of.") But the "no" answer is good in law -- less good in politics. Harris would have done "gotcha" and the honest answer would become only a foil.

Judge Kavanaugh came closer to an outright "no" in this morning's session, in response to Sen. @OrrinHatch's questioning. But BK still has enough cover in case something DOES come up. #SCOTUS #KavanaughConfirmation #KavanaughConfirmationHearings

He stammered around as though she had asked him if he had ever visited Neverland. It’s actually not that hard to remember where people work and what you talk about with them. I know this because I also have experience talking to employed people.

Heck, I can't keep track of which of my friends work at which firms, especially in a town like DC. Crappy questioning leads to results like this.

It seems obvious to me that there wasn't a there there. Designed wholly to create the impression of impropriety. The #KavanaghHearing variant of "When did you stop beating your wife?"

Of course, so too was the @CoryBooker "I am Spartacus" reveal a big nothingburger (beyond establishing that the "committee confidential" shield has been too high). So the Presidential aspirants on the left flank of the left phalanx of the dais are playing a similar game.
