I still can't get over how Neil Gorsuch & Brett Kavanaugh clerked for Justice Kennedy in the same #SCOTUS Term (along with Gary Feinerman, now a federal (& feeder) judge in Chicago). This great piece by @RichardJWolf has lots of fun color. #appellatetwitterhttps://twitter.com/richardjwolf/status/1035140658552614914 …

The judicial pool is quite a small social and professional circle it seems. This probably encourages virtually identical world views.

In certain aspects it looks like the class system of the pre WWI UK. They must have identical rep ties. How did a working class person like Sotomayor her into this club?

Well, she -- and Justice Thomas, also from modest circumstances -- got her ticket punched by elite educational institutions (@Princeton and @YalelawSch). It would be even harder for a working-class person who did not go to top schools to make it to #SCOTUS.

Can’t get over how he cited Turner Broadcasting I, decided that term and authored by Justice Kennedy, in a dissent from denial of reh’g en banc, only for Srinivasan (concurring in the denial) to tell him, essentially, that he is wrong about Turner Broadcasting . . .
