Concur with John, as usual. One Circuit nominee, 2 max. Interesting to see if it’s Matey. Grassley’s practice has been if there is a nom with 2 blue slips ready to go, they will leapfrog those missing blue slips. Matey is at the back of the line.

Matey's questionnaire hasn't been uploaded to the Judiciary Committee website, so that's why I assumed it was Kobes. In fact, Kobes is the only circuit court nominee without a hearing yet who has his questionnaire uploaded.

A prediction on how many noms we see by the end of Aug (the unofficial deadline for 2018 confirmation). I say DC, MS, and 1 CA.

I'll raise and say DC, MS, NC, and 2 CA.

The reason I added NC is because a front runner may be Magistrate Judge Robert Numbers (h/t
@DavidLat) as he was considered for the E.D.N.C. seat that Thomas Farr got nominated to. https://abovethelaw.com/2017/05/more-judicial-nominations-from-the-trump-administration/ … 1/22 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -
I didn’t include NC in my prediction because it hasn’t been open that long. Good info. I’m going to read the Lat article now. I think AZ is a long-shot for reasons we have discussed previously.

Mike, on another note, I think this pre-existing conditions law suit may come back to bite Chad Readler. He’s not going to get any votes from Dems due to Sherrod Brown not returning his blue slip, and if Collins/Murkowski vote no, he’s done for.

When there may be more R Senators. McConnell will have a firm nose count. No repeat of the craziness with Bounds. But larger point is Readler is perfectly defensible but will be a hot nom. to get through.

Yeah. I think if Jody Hunt gets confirmed ASAP, however, then Readler will be put in an easier spot, since he’ll no longer be heading up the Civil Division.

And it's high time that Jody Hunt (and the other nominees to top posts at @TheJusticeDept) got confirmed:http://bit.ly/2wbaimV

Unfortunately there are a ton of people who need to be confirmed: the CPSC nominees, DOL, the PCLOB, the Fed governors, the DOJ people, and of course the judges.
