I'm working on my next roundups of (1) #SCOTUS clerk hiring and (2) lower-court judicial nominations. Feel free to DM me or email me at dlat at abovethelaw dot com if you have info to share. Thanks! #appellatetwitterhttps://twitter.com/SCOTUSambitions/status/1022199118071062529 …

With Kavanaugh out (and, though less impactful, Kozinski and Gorsuch) all the big feeder judges these days seem to be Dems. Of course there are a lot of new Trump judges. Any who you think has potential to be a top feeder. There definitely seems to be a void to fill.

I believe Katsas already has two hired by the Court. Maybe with CT

Yes, that's right - our tweets crossed in the ether, but see the link I just tweeted out.

What would be interesting would be feeders from circuits besides 4th & DC. I imagine the 5th will produce a feeder between Willett, Ho, and Duncan.

And Oldham. I believe the only Alito clerk on the circuit court, so perhaps his former boss will have an affinity.

This brings an interesting question. Which Justice has the most former clerks on the federal bench? I suspect the answer is Kennedy, but it may now be Thomas just from Trump alone.

David should do a post on this. :-) Kennedy has a lot, and would have more had Estrada, Kuhl, and Keisler been confirmed. He also has a couple lesser known Dem appointees.

We are actually working on something along these lines as part of a larger @ATLblog project -- stay tuned!
