Have you heard that Jeff Flake took a personal vacation for August and won't be present to vote nominees out of the judiciary committee, which was McConnell's main reason for cancelling the August recess? Wondering if the reports are accurate.

Can't you vote by proxy in committee? Either he does that, or he should be stripped of his committee membership. Until then, let's just push through the Circuit and District court nominees who've already been voted on by the Senate Judiciary.

@StevenJDuffield, who's my go-to person on#Senate procedural matters - Steven, what does@JeffFlake's August vacation mean for voting nominees out of@SenJudiciary Committee (assuming Dems are united, as they have been, and vote no in committee)? -
Also, how do they replace members on the committee if they needed to or someone passed away?

Like Ginsburg, Breyer, Alito, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh, seems like someone who could pop up as a SCOTUS nominee 12 or so years later. Certainly young enough.
