Some context & additional info re: this post by @ElieNYC:
1. No, @SChuaRubenfeld (daughter of @AmyChua) won't be clerking for a Justice Kavanaugh on #SCOTUS anytime soon; she did college ROTC & owes her next few years to the military.https://twitter.com/atlblog/status/1017799480161263616 …

Not sure how you can still employ such intellectually lazy caustic hacks like

Ah, my apologies. Your piece was informative and comprehensive, and without any bitterness! Thanks for following up

Oh
@ElieNYC would destroy me, whether you are talking literally/physically (he's like twice my size) or metaphorically/verbally (I don't have his thick skin; I seek harmony and civility - which makes today's news cycle a terrible fit for me). -
I seek harmony and civility. People like you are how literal nazis get into power.

my dude chua’s whole oped *was* personal instead of being about jurisprudence. that was the uh second sentence of
@ElieNYC’s article...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I do not care that Kavanaugh is a great mentor or how nice he is to his daughters. Judges are suppose to mentor their clerks. Fathers are suppose to be nice to their children. I care about how his rulings will impact the children of strangers. Especially poor strangers.

Yes, and it's very easy to be a 'fierce advocate' for women who largely came from his alma mater (or Harvard). I'm more interested in whether he advocates for women in general, or just those who have Ivy League pedigrees / privileged backgrounds etc.
-
Like many elite law schools Yale does not have traditional grades (A, B...). Consequently placement with feeder judges is often dependent on who the law student knows. That is the feeder judge will contact certain law professors and will take the professors recommendation

You kind of missed the point. It wasn't to personally attack Kav supporters. It was to say, giving Kav support for his personal qualities while ignoring the incredible damage his jurisprudence will do to millions of people, including unnecessary deaths of many women, is immoral.

I really didn’t like how the article diminished Chua’s membership on the clerkship committee and seemed like she was “just a mom.” Sexist/anti-Asian vibes. Also, what Elie called a small sample size (10 people) was literally more than 20% of Kavanaugh’s total clerks (48).
-
So basically he's great at hiring women that went to Yale (or Harvard)? What about women in general?
-
This is a facetious argument because all schools (somewhat sans Yale) admit mostly based on GPA + LSAT, meaning of the best women are at HYS. LSAT is 25% predictive of 1L GPA, which is usually the most important year for clerkships.

That seems to be
@ElieNYC's point anyway. That the fawning articles about personal relationships from other legal/political elites conveniently ignore what his nomination/jurisprudence means for a black person in North Carolina or a married same sex couple in Alabama.Thanks. Your bar for out of bounds personal attacks seems really low. But, more importantly: why are negative personal assessments out of bounds, but the positive personal assessments that come out seemingly every day ok? The positive ones aren't about jurisprudence either.

Amy Chua wrote a personal piece about her DAUGHTER working for Kavanaugh. Just because she is going to do “service” doesn’t mean she doesn’t benefit from the blatant back-scratching.

What's a personal attack? Shouldn't every bit of his character be judged and scrutinized since he will be sitting on the bench for life, paid for by tax payers while judging others? He was a creep misogynist at Yale and still is. We don't need more of his kind on the bench.
