Politico says “But Kennedy, in leaving the impression with Trump that Kavanaugh would be a great candidate for the job, helped the president make up his mind.” So exactly what do you think she’s suggesting that you think didn’t happen?

Right, what part of that statement do you think is factually false? Characterizing it as “negotiations”?

Like, this was literally the plot of the West Wing episode The Supremes. It’s not surprising. And up until now, I’ve never heard anybody suggest that *that* was the unrealistic part of the episode.

The politico version doesn’t say anything factually different. all her reporting says is that the administration told Kennedy “we will appoint Kavanaugh if you resign.” And then Kennedy chose to resign.
