I get & prob even agree w/ ur analysis of Judge Hardiman's candidacy, but I cant help feel 'skeeved' (term of derision 'working-class' use) by its content. Perhaps this is more for the 'world of legal elites', but ur art is so detailed on insignificant minutia its hard to stomach

I didn't mean it derisively; I grew up in a working-class/blue-collar town myself (at least for part of my childhood).
-
I know. I wasnt calling ur use of the term 'working-class' derisive, I was [patronizingly] attempting to explain that 'skeeved' is a slang term working-class use to express derision. I know ur article necessarily had to come off as elitist sounding, & I was being a little snarky.
-
Oh! Yes - that was part of the point of the article, you're right.
-
Ha! Admittedly, my tweet was a pretty hollow & obvious comment on the tone of your article, which you do vigorously couch as 'ridiculous' within. I just really got a kick out of defining a slang term as an aside, to play into the tone.

I feel like I've seen this one before...https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/01/us/supreme-court-runner-up-thomas-hardiman.html …

[1] He served w/ Trump's sister on the 3rd. She's will known for helping colleagues. (Testified in Alito confirmation). I think she'sadvocating for him. [2] Kethledge went to a great PUBLIC school (Michigan Law). He can compete in the human-story division with Hardiman.

Maybe to be safe McConnell said of Thomas Hardiman, “We’ve already approved him and so we won’t likely get ambushed.” The court definitely needs geographical diversity.

If
@DavidAFrench gives Kethledge a grand slam and Kavanaugh a home run, Hardiman is only a bloop single. Conservatives need to put runs on the board.#SCOTUSnomineeThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Massive own goal if so. Just bite the bullet and pick Kavanaugh or Barrett. Feeling cautious? Kethledge then.
