    Kenneth Starr’s argument—impeachment should not void voting—is an argument against any and all presidential impeachments. It’s an argument he didn’t make in 1998. It’s anti-Constitutional. It’s purely transactional—which is pure Trump.

    The idea that "Democrats will never stop extending the hand of friendship" to a fascist authoritarian who has subverted the law to remain in office is not a comforting one. Accommodating him, then tearing up a few pieces of paper, is also less than reassuring.
