An incredible honor to be sworn in as today. I’m excited and inspired to lead such a reputable office with an impressive group of legal minds. Together, we will use the power of the law to stand up for San Franciscans and confront our city’s greatest challenges.

Thanks to the Chinese Chamber & volunteers who, despite the rain, organized another great Chinese New Year Parade tonight - the largest parade of its kind outside of Asia. Happy Year of the Rabbit!

This ruling is truly shocking. How does society benefit in any way by allowing someone under a domestic violence restraining order to possess a gun? Once again, people will die as a result of the decisions by these conservative activist judges.

During this week's overlap of Lunar New Year & Black History Month, it was special to join Mayor , Asian & Black leaders in city government. While each of our communities continue to face real challenges, we know that we're always stronger together.

It is heartbreaking that Tyre Nichols’ funeral service falls on the first day of Black History Month today. This month and every month, we must recommit to celebrating Black lives and dismantling the societal conditions that led to Tyre’s parents laying their son to rest today.

The murder of Tyre Nichols is completely devastating and abhorrent. The video showed an utter disregard for human life, and the officers must be held fully accountable. America has a long way to go before all of our communities feel safe.

Thanks to all who joined tonight’s vigil in SF Chinatown to remember the mass shootings victims from Monterey Park, Half Moon Bay and Oakland. The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Enough is enough.

Over the last several years, our API communities have dealt with tremendous levels of loss, hate and violence directed at us. These incidents are inexcusable and have no place in San Francisco.

While we're still reeling from the tragedy in Monterey Park, a gunman in Half Moon Bay took at least seven lives today. We don't even have time to grieve between shootings. What are we waiting for? We must act to end the madness.

Today marks what would have been the 50th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Since it was overturned, too many states have banned abortion & passed unprecedented restrictions, putting millions at risk. We can't go back in time. The fight for reproductive rights is far from over.

I am heartbroken & angry to learn of last night's mass shooting in Monterey Park. What should have been a joyful Lunar New Year celebration turned into tragedy. I am praying for the victims, their families & our larger API community. The madness must end.

During very dark years for our country, she helped to save our republic and our democracy. While her formal title may have changed, to us San Franciscans, she'll always be Madam Speaker. Thank you, Nancy Pelosi!
