    My wife, waiting in line at McDonald’s, points out that they have a better sabbatical program than Microsoft does. A company car’s not a bad perk, either! I legitimately did not see this coming. Maybe if the software thing doesn’t work out, I’ll send them a resume.

    Is anyone else seeing branch confusion issues with Actions? I have a scheduled CI run via Actions and it always reports as running on non-master branch "next". Yesterday I deleted that branch so "master" is the only branch - but the latest run still says it ran on "next".

    Considering what to call each of the two browsers named Edge? I've seen these on Microsoft sites: New Edge Next Edge Edge based on Chromium And heard from coworkers: Credge Edgium The other version is referred to as: Legacy Edge Edge based on EdgeHTML And informally: Old Edge

    We were promised that last episode was the end of the previous SBC storyline. Bringing those characters back would demonstrate a lack of respect and integrity. Violating core values so soon after the company-wide training would not be a good look.

    I'm not ready to spend a bunch of time debugging this today, so I've shelved the idea for now. Someone competent could certainly do better and I'd gladly read your blog post. :)

    Installing `xubuntu-server` succeeded, but booted to a black screen as described at . The greeter suggestion worked, but various other issues were present: double toolbar entries, programs that would not launch, no UHD resolution support, etc..

    To whom it may concern, I tried putting Ubuntu Server on a 4GB Pi 4 according to . That worked fine, but had no WiFi nor (seemingly) the command-line tools to connect. So I plugged in a cable to do the `apt update`.

    I've transitioned my OSS projects and Node.js development to a Raspberry Pi 4. It works surprisingly well! Tho it's not the fastest computer I've used, performance is fine, the device is completely silent, it's power-efficient, and costs very little.
