I’ve noticed a pattern in Warren coverage. Let’s call it the “Wait. What?” narrative. She releases a statement or plan, she receives favorable initial coverage, and then good journalists take a closer look. That's when it all falls apart:https://thedispatch.com/p/the-french-press-elizabeth-warrens …

My DNA shows I'm part Native American! Michael Brown was murdered! I can ban fracking all on my own! I can create an agency (the CFPB) that's accountable to neither the president nor Congress! Her Medicare for All plan is chock-full of these kind of "Wait. What?" moments

Medicare for All costs $10 trillion less than you think! We can collect more than $2 trillion in taxes through better enforcement! Displaced workers can sell life and car insurance! Her plan piles assumption on assumption on a giant word-salad of deception.

It’s interesting how she’s expected to give specific details about everything but male candidates (and Republicans) never have to do that. I wonder what could be the main factor behind this bias.

While Warren’s projections about increased revenue from IRS enforcement are...let’s say, optimistic...last time I checked the rate was something like $7 of revenue for every dollar spent on enforcement, which makes budget cuts there infuriating

1/ The initial impression left by Warren and Sanders a year ago was that Sanders believed in revolutionary, systemic change while Warren wanted to radically reshape markets. Since that time, Sanders has remained the same, but Warren has added huge expenditures as well.

2/ To mainstream Democrat, they now seem the same except Sanders is the visionary and Warren is the planner. Sanders will be more honest on costs incurred by society while Warren will be more specific about changes to society. Neither seems very concerned with throwing
