Beautiful thread on some of the deep organizing that was happening on 's campaign, inspired by the model of organizing. Campaign organizers didn't just ask for a vote when they knocked on doors, but worked to form real and long-lasting relationships.

The organizing experiments we undertook on David’s campaign are still inspiring me a few days after our loss, and hold lessons for how socialists in the US can deepen our working class base. 🧡

But the fact of the matter is that lack of unity between progressive candidates ended up handing another term to Kevin Parker. While Parker returns to Albany to fight on behalf of corporations, we will continue to fight to unite SD21 & represent the needs of the working families.

During this campaign we experienced a unique unification of progressive organizations – I am so inspired by the strength of the many organizations and individual volunteers that united behind this campaign.

Parker does not have the support of the majority of the district. He won less than 50% of the vote. It is clear that with a single strong candidate, we can win the leadership we deserve in State Senate District 21.

Kevin Parker’s win serves to remind us once again just how powerful and influential corporate interests and monies are; but the results yesterday showed us something else which is extremely important to recognizeπŸ§΅β¬‡οΈ

Thank you. What a year it's been. The polls have just closed! Now we wait. Regardless of the results, I'm so honored to have worked with everyone in this movement. We did something amazing in this campaign: build a working-class coalition in Flatbush. Stay tuned.✊🏾

Less than 4⃣ hours until polls close and voters are still making their voices heard. We're going to win a dignified future for all, but only if we turn out voters for the next four hours. Please join one last canvass or phone bank at 6PM: davidforbk.com/events
