I'm about to reprovision my VPS, after 628 days of continuous uptime, and ~4 years since the OS was installed. Gonna upgrade from Debian 8 to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Debian 8 LTS support ends in about a month, and various things were already breaking (such as certbot being out of date) - so I thought it was time for a fresh start.
I'm not too bothered by uptime, I'm sure the handful of people who read my blog posts can wait a few hours

Sorry, maybe I was unclear. I meant the switch from Debian to Ubuntu. Because the Ubuntu LTS is maintained for 5 years and Debian only 2? Are you going for a uptime record? :D

Ah. Well tbh the switch was mostly arbitrary - 20.04 is shinier and newer. But yeah, I want to put off any future maintenance for as long as possible.
