I'm having a lot of fun hacking this ancient Windows CE PDA. The bootrom, kernel, framebuffer, and anything else you might want are just... mapped into userspace.pic.twitter.com/RRoFCrU5v4

tfw you find bootrom source on github https://github.com/zizilala/projects_wince_old/blob/633c4f5dae5e29d3858e6965753c69307c45f4e6/COMMON/SRC/SOC/PXA27X_MS_V1/OAL/STARTUP/startup.s … (not identical to what I'm working with, but close enough)pic.twitter.com/TIwBnbAoHC

(although it's not *really* a bootROM, since it's on writable flash)

I don't want to reflash the firmware, because if I write bad code then I get a brick. So instead, I overwrite the sleep state registers before putting the device to sleep. Once it powers back on, the bootloader jumps to my code (in ram).pic.twitter.com/RWyt2PQgLV
