I wonder if there's a way to skip the garbage between the different data blocks with some DEFLATE tricks or using one of the more esoteric ZIP "compression" options? I guess you'd probably have to deal with CRC issues.
How did you even add in multipart files? The source seems to have a significant amount of trouble doing it.
