Ok, im sorry if i misrepresented your argument. I think there are some situations when theft is justified. I think the reason behind theft is the main point we should be looking at, just like any other crime should be analyzed that way.
For example, why did they steal? If they were just bored, probably not great, if they were hungry and have no money, justified. Thats a gross simplification of my beliefs in the sake of character limits and that im not in the mood to write a dissertation lol.

Well, alright then. I am certain I can find times when theft is condoned (I still wouldnt say justified), and I am also certain that my list is much more narrow than yours. But at least we're not talking past each other. I appreciate the apology.
It would be preferable if they didn't need to steal at all, but that can only be achieved by eliminating the systems in place that force them into those positions. These are circumstances of late stage capitalism.
