        It's a PSP development kit. They load the pre-ipl externally through kbooti.bin files.

        Thanks, still use my PSPgo a times (Infiniti+PRO). I think I use 1.02, but the website only lets you download 1.0 - was this ever resolved?

        Nope. There were reports of bricks with 1.02 install. tried to reproduce but failed. Left in a situation where I ignore brick or pull update
