What if some MMO NPCs were not set on chasing you across the whole world to kill you, but were content to simply make you go away?
@IADaveMark I think Everquest used to do that - guards chase you for 30 secs, then forget you. Memory limitation, maybe?

@DaveVoyles It's called "leashing" and is more to preserve spawn point activity than anything else. -
@IADaveMark how I don't miss the Everquest days of "Train!!" And everyone moves from the entrance, to avoid NPCs toppling you
