Why are we trying to build more consoles? A Netbook w/ ivy bridge can run most of today's Xbox and ps3 games.
@KyleOrl work ivy, probably start at $400, but any Xbox remote works. The cost is a barrier to entry, however, so you have a point

@DaveVoyles Just because a controller "works" doesn't mean developers can assume most players have it. That's a big diff. -
@KyleOrl that's true. Standards do make a big difference for developers (I mean look at android vs apple)
