Why are we trying to build more consoles? A Netbook w/ ivy bridge can run most of today's Xbox and ps3 games.

@DaveVoyles Amen, I'm playing stuff like DIRT3 with solid frame rates on an ENVY 6. If I want to see it on a TV, there's always HDMI-out

@DaveVoyles People don't want to hook a laptop to their TV. Also, how cheap is the netbook? And does it have a standard controller?

@KyleOrl work ivy, probably start at $400, but any Xbox remote works. The cost is a barrier to entry, however, so you have a point

@DaveVoyles Not saying these things make a dedicated TV console _better_, but it can serve a different market for that reason.

@DaveVoyles bad: b/c consoles make money and lock people into ecosystems. good: b/c game are about pushing boundaries of graphics.

@DiscordJames I suppose so. I guess we just need some sort of standard on PC. GFWL was doing that, especially with the gamepad
