Making sure you don't hold a crappy deadline or a bad mood against a game is undeniably part of the job... but we're all human. Why take that risk?!

Unfortunately, sometimes review code isn't ready until the last possible minute. Time is up, whether the game is really done or not. That's why there are so many Day One patches.

I mean this is definitely true *sometimes* but quite often it's a deliberate, calculated decision. Particularly in the case I'm obliquely referring to right now.

Had this issue with my first release. As a result most of the early reviews were negative, the positive ones came too late.

Definitely be wary of this if you're making a challenging game!
