Totally loving my new @dell laptop (5520)
* A huge BRIGHT HD screen (with touch!)
* Nice keyboard, and trackpad
* LOTS of ports (USB A & C, HDMI, SD card)
* Amazing speakers
Still struggling with Win10 though (but I'm getting there...)
I have the Mac at work and a Windows 10 machine at home, and I've become fluently bilingual between them. I was a primarily Windows user pre-Google, so I have much more Windows history behind me, but I've never been someone who loves one and hates the other. They are utilities.

It's the little stuff, like awkward keystrokes (cmd-F4?) and a really, REALLY old school file explorer. Honestly, if they just updated that one thing, I'd likely be happy.

One area where MS really did put effort was on-machine search. Try searching for your file instead of browsing. It's not obvious, but opening the start menu and just starting to type invokes search. Faster to CTRL+ESC (open Start menu) then start typing to search.

I've used both since I bought a Mac in 1999. I started out with Windows 3.1 and Commodore 64s a few years before that.

Oh! Oh! Is this a game? I had 5 1/4 diskettes in college for Windows 1.0 beta, my first computer was a Radio Shack Color Computer (16K RAM with extended basic) in 1981, and I've been using email since 1985! :)

Hold my beer... In 1978 I learned BASIC on my the accounting mini computer in my dad's office, it had disk drives the size of a very large cake carrier. I could only use it on the weekends when the office was empty.

Cake carrier makes me think of the "portable" Commodores with the keyboard that clipped onto the front for some reason.

Oh right! I'd forgotten about those! <high five>pic.twitter.com/WbOcZWle8V

What did those things weigh?

Felt more like 50 to me as a kid. Just found that on Wikipedia.
