Houses with multiple guns also have multiple knives, yet we only see mass shootings, not mass stabbings. How many kitchen knives are in your home? How many other blades? I have a knife block in the kitchen with 7 knives, so there must be at least as many knives as guns in the UShttps://twitter.com/nytimes/status/997813126857969665 …

Point me to the last US knifing spree with dozen plus deaths. What a sad, tired argument from a place where mass gun deaths happen daily. The rest of the world isn't like this!

Oh, I'm not arguing for guns. I am all for strict gun control. But pro-gun people see this graph from the NYT and claim that gun killers would just become knife killers if they lost their guns. Bullshit. People already have access to a metric fuck ton of knives without stabbings.

Knives Have other uses. Your kitchen knives are not for defense. Guns are for murders, killing a spouse, kids killing a family member accidentally and suicide primarily. Knives help with dinner.

Guns are readily available and preferred for their speed, ability to destroy, accuracy and efficiency in killing, and ability to kill from afar. That's why people choose them over knives, right? That's why we need to control guns.

Sorry, I totally misunderstood. We are in agreement here.

Yes. I completely believe that the availability of guns is the cause of the murders. I do not believe that killers would just switch to other weapons. We're arguing the same thing: guns are the problem.
