Have been asked a lot for careers advice recently and the one simple thing I’d say is be on time for things. If you’re consistently late it tells the other person you’re disorganised, and in a competitive industry, I’d always choose to work with and hire the organised person.

Great advice! And be prepared and concise. Be ready for every meeting, every presentation, every discussion. Have a purpose / focus / reason / agenda. Be concise - don't bumble your way through anything and think you can make it up along the way. Focus and be clear.
