Centering the work on the users will be easier to accomplish than steering the underlying revenue systems into new economic models. We already have many user-centered products that provide value to people - the problem is how they are monetized. These are not the same thing...

In all seriousness, I agree with you. But I am distressed by how often we're user testing solutions to business challenges instead of business testing solutions to user challenges.

I like how you flip those phrases for perspective. What are users getting (what do they need?) vs. What are we monetizing (what do we need?) Goal: deliver what the customer needs, and don't sell the customer to make money.
