I block, mute keywords, and unfollow so often here it never really got too shitty. Facebook is just boooooooring.

I did my weekly check on FB to see if anyone DMed me (yes, I had ONE!) and it took about 4-5 screens of scrolling to get back to things I'd seen a week ago. My feed has really puttered out - feels like so many people left FB...

I always liked email. :) IMAP for example is an open standard and you are not tied to a company that controls it.. :)

Exactly. And it's verifiable via things like DKIM and SPF, and now increasingly encrypted. Interesting also how people like
@MrAlanCooper are wondering about the UX of email recently as well re. Slack and its difficulties.

I disconnected from FB nearly 3 years ago and have barely missed it. Twitter still feels like a good place for serendipity moments and something akin to modern day pen pals.

I think it's time we revive our personal blogs, RSS feeds, and email accounts. Then quitting Twitter should be much easier. :)
