Did you learn that on your own? Or from someone who taught you? My mom taught me.

Working in restaurant kitchens - picked it up from the pros. I've never seen my mother line a baking pan...

Just curious, was your mom a good baker? I didn't learn wonders of parchment paper until I was an adult. Mom only used wax paper.

Yes, she is - nothing fancy (like homemade puff pastry), but a solid baker of pies, cakes, and cookies (though she's not a decorator of layer cakes
)

Ooh, that sounds like something I'd like! I'm a fan of berry pies.

I can send the recipe, if you want or cannot find one.

I just found several recipes online, but if you're open to sharing the recipe, I'll take it!

I found several recipes that use an egg in the filling - her pie has never had an egg in it, and she always uses breadcrumbs for the topping. (I often skip the topping...)
