Another chapter of living with bad design: Last night at 3am one of my smoke detectors decided to play "low battery Marco Polo"
And batteries always go dead at night. In the middle of the night. That red LED should just turn on when the battery is down to like 5% - it could be on for days or weeks, and someone would notice. At night. :)

YES! Not only that, my smoke alarm has a 'voice alert' which takes a ton of power. LED blinking is trivial compared to that
