Allow me to clarify that I am speaking about misuse with malicious intent to lie, trick, deceive, steal, misdirect, or cause loss or harm to others. I did not mean "misuse" as other legitimate, beneficial, unforeseen uses of a product.

It's too bad it's not asked for this very product more often

Unless you’re talking about using it for evil, I think “misused” is the wrong connotation. If it’s not being used as intended/anticipated then you’re not asking the users the right questions. You need to better understand the problem you’re trying to solve.

Yes, the implication was misuse for malicious intent. Send that even with 280 characters I ran out...

Got it. I've definitely encountered people who get frustrated when users use the product in a way not intended, and always guide them to vent their frustrations by re-identifying the problem they were trying to solve ;)

I've found it's hard for designers to step outside the constraints they've envisioned for use of a thing, which is why almost everything is vulnerable to misuse in some way. Fortunately, you have
@praetorianlabs to ask those questions and find those flaws before theyre exploited.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I suppose this is where extensive user testing and ethical considerations should come into play during the design process. Although you make a valid point, we can't catch everything.

I'm an advocate for some kinda of bug bounty / pen test analogue in tech. It'd be my dream job, too, since I'm a scrupulous villain with a heart of gold.
