      11. And then at some point flip the goal back around to coming up with GOOD ideas. The trust & energy in the room will carry forward.

      12. U can also take the "bad ideas" flip them around to good ones. In the book I use the example of "invent a better mobile phone case":pic.twitter.com/ukArxGUMOh

      13. Sometimes flipping those bad ideas sends you towards interesting concepts you'd never have come up with otherwise.

      14. The reason why most group creativity methods fail is a) politics b) bad facilitation c) ppl compete to feel smartest d) too many cooks

      15. Often the "methods" are ok, but if coworkers hate each other, the boss is a bad facilitator and 25 ppl in room... it will always suck.

      17. The more work you do the clearer it is that all work is a dance: sometimes u need more ideas, sometimes u need to decide and kill ideas.

Awesome thread. Wasted ideas aren't really wasted, they're often just good ideas in the wrong time and place. The trick is not LOSING them.

Yet another reason that ideas die in obscurity, not from overexposure. Overcoming the fear of your idea being stolen increases survival odds
