I find I’m more polite to Alexa than Siri. Why? I can think of two options.
thanks. Is it really just accuracy? Any other "social communication" behaviors on Alexa's side? Repeat, interpret, synthesize?

@Cennydd Would be very cool if Alexa sounded slightly sad when you're impolite. Or just more cheerful when you're polite. -
or takes offense... :)

That would be a good solution for some of the parents out there. http://qz.com/701521/parents-are-worried-the-amazon-echo-is-conditioning-their-kids-to-be-rude/ …

people fear adding emotions to robots, that it may lead to dystopia, but it might also make us more human...

Maybe. If the device doesn't pick up your voice or doesn't understand you, you will just end up just shouting commands.
-
"shouting commands" changes people's emotions - they feel they need a reason to yell. Frustration and anger follow.
-
in my case, shouting commands is often a result of frustration. When "Alexa, please turn on the lights" doesn't work...
-
... "Alexa lights" often does.
