For those of you that love and use it, what is it about Material Design that's better than everything that came before?
-
-
: Intention can be contrary to outcome though. Isn’t it still possible for Material Design to still experience entropy?
-
Definitely. This is all predicated on the assumption that people want to evolve it and are committed to having it persist.
-
: Right on. And so far, that’s been the case, yeah?
-
I suppose the trick to longevity is to design a system that can absorb, adjust, and account for as many exceptions as possible.
-
: Quite the difficult trick!
-
in physics and chaos theory, these systems are self-organizing and exhibit emergent patterns: adaptive, not prescriptive.
-
sorry to hijack but with best intentions these systems are built on shifting sands so only fundamentals are relevant
-
"Fundamentals" (or "principles") are precisely why good systems adapt and bad systems break when the sands shift.
