Hey in-house UXers, what is your biggest hurdle to being part of the strategy team and process (if you are not part but are trying to be)?
@mustefaJ how many times did things fail before others listened to this rationale? how many times did you need to "prove" success?

@davehogue … what I did learn though, is that you can't be everywhere at once, and have your hands in all the things. -
@mustefaJ yes - need to focus & start somewhere. I hear many UXers say, "I just did it anyway, without consensus or support, just for proof" -
@davehogue Yeah but there's that mentality of "proof", etc. Gots to *gots to* !gots to! avoid that. -
@mustefaJ I hear business people equate "proof" with ROI - demonstrate your value, then we'll consider including you. Very demeaning. -
@DaveHogue the roi is... 'Then why on earth did you hire me. Lol, you're spending the money already you silly goose.' Then quit. ;) -
@mustefaJ No, solve the problem 99% of the way, keep the final bit to yourself, collect another paycheck, then quit. ;)

@davehogue … we "proved" success together, holistically. And we failed together too. -
@davehogue … so the onus isn't on the "UXer", it's on everyone around them too! -
@mustefaJ I've had experiences where UX takes the initiative and others join (follow), unless there is extreme territoriality or fear. :\
