@berkun I'm intrigued. Why do you think we need a "mathematics of atonement"? I worry about subversion and manipulation by the non-contrite.

@DaveHogue Mathematics might be the wrong word. How do you decide when someone has redeemed themselves? That's what I'm asking. -
@berkun I get the idea of a "social equation", the math of social decision-making, but will understanding the equation change it? -
@DaveHogue I don't know. I may force people to ask what exactly they expect someone to do to be redeemed. Often we make it impossible. -
@berkun Sometimes it's difficult to clearly state what we need to have happen to change our attitudes and emotions: I know it when I see it. -
@DaveHogue Yes. That's my point. Perhaps redemption is important enough we should realize how thoughtless we are about how it works. -
@berkun It feels like redemption is driven by emotion, but there must be some underlying "decision process" (heuristic.) 1/2
