Basecamp just got a bit crappier, Itunes got a lot. Should designers be kept away from good software, so they don't get an urge to fiddle?

@DaveHogue@daveixd or sometimes, the designer is wrong. -

@DaveHogue@daveixd I get tired of design willing to blame everyone else for bad design. it's in your title own it, fight for it, or get out -
@cwodtke I generally agree, but you must admit that b/c design is neither the bank nor the means of production, it is a hard battle indeed. -
@daveixd i see a lot of learned helplessness too. -
@cwodtke agreed. Designers by their training are taught to be "of service". It is our #1 failing characteristic. -
@daveixd it's a misunderstanding of the term. It shouldn't mean do what you are told. It should mean, be in service to the company's success

@DaveHogue We are all still in this world of evangelizing more than we design. /@cwodtke -

@DaveHogue@daveixd every member of the team can contribute to bad design. And sometimes it's good design, but not for me, admittedly.

@DaveHogue or the constraints of what is open for discussion is equally out of the control of the designer. /@cwodtke -
@daveixd@davehogue@cwodtke If I ever had to suffer that constraint I'd look for a better place to party.#truism
