What's a metaphor for semaphore?

I’m confused by the question. Usually the reverse already applies: no one uses actual semaphore flags so saying it generally means “signal wildly.” So… what do you mean?

Well, I thought the question sounded funny: ...phor for ... phore. I don't actually need a metaphor, I just made myself laugh when I thought of it, and since this is Twitter, I felt obligated to over-share without explanation.

Sorry for the false engagement. I'll go looking for things under rocks now...

Pointlessly talking about old timey signaling systems is more fun—and productive—than my normal work right now so it’s all good.

On that note, the Google keyboard for smart phones now supports Morse code.
