#Chatgpt reminds me of the Christmas tree farm we visit every year The customer gets to pay & do the work (cut the tree == train the algo). Brilliant biz model imo Yes Im aware one can buy a precut tree. My kids & Wife wont allow this cause it's too fun watching me struggle
Reading Nick Szabo's original paper in 1996 makes me wonder where he buried his crystal ball. Coincidence or just extremely calculated foreshadowing, it reads like it was written for web3 in the last year or 2 What else should I be reading? #web3 #blockchain #smartcontracts
"Do not confuse things that are hard with things that are valuable. Many things in life are hard. Just because you are giving a great effort does not mean you are working toward a great result. Make sure that mountain is worth climbing." –

As I dive into the world of #web3 and #writing it is proving to be invaluable to attempt to teach these concepts to others on a similar journey. I wrote a few words that make the case for why we should all strive to teach as we learn. Enjoy

Building my future based on 2 principles. Deep Work (Cal Newport style) and long-term consistency (time horizon dictates quality of choices). Let's see what happens. From sales to software? From biz dev to Blockchain dev? Enjoying every snippet...JS feels like magic still

I find the Twitter tropes to be so lazy and such obvious bait for pseudo-engagement. Anyone have a bot to auto-block copy/paste template garbage? P.s.- I spent 100000 hours studying basket weaving so you don't have to. Here's what I learned...

"Raise your ambitions. Lower your expectations. The higher your ambitions, the bolder your actions. The lower your expectations, the greater your satisfaction. Achieve more and be happy along the way." –

Anyone else amazed by the fact that consciousness is not an intrinsic trait but instead requires years of development post-birth? Self-awareness seems to have a minimum threshold of neural capacity Makes AGI seem curiously plausible within this lifetime (big leap here I know)

Seems as though the harder I work, the more engaged I am, the less time I have to think/procrastinate about what work I should be doing. The antidote to squandering and pondering is executing.
Zen does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes. - Alan Watts. Trying everyday to just get a little better at peeling. 🥔

The success of the "fake it till you make it" strategy is contingent on the counterparty buying into the fake-ness. You're not around smart enough ppl if you can pull it off. Or you're too good at being fake. Instead- Put in the work and lean into authenticity.

Who else thinks works of fiction offer as many valuable life lessons, warnings, reasons for optimism, and escapism as any other type of content?

For all that we humans have accomplished...if we don't end up innovating and creating our way out of these issues we've created... Our legacy will be that of destruction built on top of hyper-individualism and not ingenuity on top of collaboration.

"Many people are not ready for their lucky break when it comes to them. Develop your skills. Study your craft. Save some money. Build a network before you need it. Lay the ground work. The prepared person is positioned to benefit from unexpected opportunities." –
I'm retweeting this...so you don't have to. Aside from using this tired trope that plagues Twitter - the thread has a ton of great content for writing online and productizing your thoughts and words. Enjoy!

Everyone says, "Writing is the most powerful tool to make money online" So I spent over 100 hours studying 217 Twitter accounts to figure out how to do it. Here are 14 threads to monetize your writing and predictably craft viral content:

Being hyper-curious isn't enough. Work on your ability to craft questions that convey genuine interest & humility. If others can feel you're invested in the conversation and not just a desired outcome... Paradoxically, the desired outcome becomes more likely.

In order to start selling effectively you must stop selling. Seek out value to provide, level up your listening, and be hyper-curious to understand those sitting across from you. If you don't think you need to sell anything - wake up. We are all #selling every single day.

Twitter in your mind : Post what you perceive to be insightful and thought provoking content which leads to engagement and followers. Twitter in reality : Following everyone else for their content and enjoy the soundtrack of crickets that plays to your own.

Combine books... When I read books I try to think of the role they play within my systems, individually, and in combination. A simple example - Deep Work + The One Thing by Gary Keller. You now have a way to pick your task and give it the attention it deserves.

What a time to be alive that you can connect with like-minded individuals, have a brain-dump, and come out the other side with clarity you hadn't thought possible... Thanks - the journey continues . . . Maybe Twitter isn't so bad after all

Hindsight is great for retrospective analysis and learning but should not dictate the force and momentum of pushing forward.
Ever consume content that is paradoxically motivating and demotivating? I'm always inspired by those at the top of their field, true thinkers, innovators, etc.. Demis is the epitome imo. youtube.com/watch?v=Gfr50f Hard to imagine reaching this level or having such an impact.

Throw out your understanding of work-life balance. Strive for the extremes. Work with focus and discipline while forgetting everything else. Then when work is done, slip back into life mode. Trying to find balance may lead to sub-optimal results on both ends of the seesaw.

Happy Friday to everyone pushing forward whether the path is clear or not. Not all who wander are lost ... or something like that right ?

Curiosity and shiny object syndrome are indistinguishable at times... Learning to code, writing fiction, blog on philosophy, a course on sales... Anyone else justifying so many different things to do that it leads to NOTHING? 🤔🤔
Everyone should learn #Sales. REAL sales. Not the deployment of some tactics to convince and persuade. The act of listening and then communicating a well-prepared solution to a known problem/pain. This is the quickest way to launch a career, a company, etc... #salesmanship

Finding that intersection of interests and skills seems to be the hardest part when trying to get off the ground. Putting in the work is easy in comparison - I just struggle to see where I can be considered a knowledgeable and worth following. Ideas anyone?

8/ We're all on this journey, don't be afraid to look left and right. Sometimes accountability and community can be the missing link. The piece that puts it all together and helps turn that energy from potential to kinetic. Follow along here and let's climb together.

7/ Identify what matters Is it a side hustle, family, spouses, friends, work, or something else? We may not know what the entire path looks like but identifying where we want to spend our energy is a good place to start.

6/ Brush one tooth, run for 5 mins, write one sentence. Instead of burying yourself in the successful habits and outputs of others - give yourself a break. Play the long game. Focus on building the habit of how to build habits and have faith that the momentum will soon follow.

5/ Set the bar LOW at first. The first few steps going up the mountain are often the most intimidating. You have the disadvantage of being at the so-called bottom and the vantage point is overwhelming. Set the bar low so that first step becomes easier to take.

4/ Define what peak performance means to YOU More and more of us wake up every day realizing there's more to life than work. Maybe peak performance means putting your phone down more often with the family, improving communication skills, or sticking with that new hobby.
