.@MichaelAvenatti reeks of personal ambition & suspect motives. But, so does nearly everyone in DC. Avenatti is convincing reluctant people to step forward and speak truth to power. And, so far, this truth is both credible and impactful.
For decades, Republicans undermine unwritten rules that keep our democracy together & functioning. We should care about them, because there is no democracy w/o them. But, we need to allow our interpretation of these rules to progress & adapt to Republican's asymmetric warfare.
If we cling too tightly to narrowly defined rules of process and debate, we will wake up one day, not too long from now, in a plutocratic autocracy. Where our unwritten rules will be worthless and our fight lost along with the freedoms, peace, and prosperity that makes US great.
