Looking at the voter drop off from 2008 to 2012, is there a reason beside fandom that Obama is being used for GOTV?

I don’t see what’s wrong with fandom. Obama’s current approval rating is 58% overall. His job approval rating is 83% among Democrats. Most people would think it’s a good to use a popular surrogate to stump for your campaign.

Yea if the purpose is to motivate the people who already turned in their ballot. He’s very popular among people who already agree.

I’m not sure if I agree with you. I would bet there are a lot of voters who like Obama who haven’t voted yet. And like I said earlier, he’s popular with a majority of Americans. Obama’s campaigning hits a broader audience than you might think.

The thing about averages is if one side is a whole lot higher than the other, it evens out. If the goal to keep “good” dems motivated, it serves its purpose but that is all it does.pic.twitter.com/UV7kBFuRLw
