#4 is the best weight distribution and provides the most stability when transporting to and from the fridge. This is just science.
But from a practical usage #1 is the best option so you’re always grabbing it by the side with most weight plus you can cut it once you’ve used eggs.

I stand by the move of cutting the carton once you’ve used half. That should be option #1 tbh
