Can you explain how it’s bad strategy? I’m curious. I voted Howie because I don’t trust Trump or Biden and didn’t know enough about the other third party candidates aside from Jo and Howie. I wasn’t voting Jo based on her comments in that ISideWith site

They don’t exist until 5 months before presidential elections.

Well in Howie’s case, that’s false. I was hearing about him last year, along with his opponent in the Green Party primary, Dario Hunter

First let me say that I have no issue w/ individual GP members, their sentiments & disillusionment are totally valid. But as Dary said, they dont put the energy into the grassroots movement they need to build a sustainable, long term counter to the dems.

Yea as long as I’ve been alive I’ve heard about the need for a legit third party but no one has taken the time (that I have seen) to make it happen. You don’t get to just have a Presidential candidate and think they’ll take a portion because of the other two shit candidates.

It’s hard to get a legit third party established when the laws and rules are always adjusted to benefit the duopoly

If the party is already recognized by your state you literally just need to create a central committee. Both parties have organizational structures that span from local to federal. Yea its a lot of work but if you want a third party the blue print exists.

And again, to get to the federal level and be seen as much as Democrats and Republicans, the FEC rules and policies need to be changed so they aren’t advantageous for only the duopoly. I’d love to see the GP and DSA work together and form a coalition party (1/2)

(2/2) but the disdain toward each other needs to end.

I dont really see disdain but like once again you went straight to the FEC. Home runs are cool but base hits win championships. Get a Green Party member elected to city council so people have a reference for trust for the GP because as it stands it’s only seen as a protest option

And also to be clear, vote however you want I’m just saying from a strategy perspective it’s a dead end. Not even mentioning the branding issue.

I get it and I was strong on the DSA train until I saw a lot of issues from folks that are DSA members that turned me off.
