      The Rays are a great team, but they aren’t an aesthetically pleasing baseball team to watch.       not even close to the worst take ever, but not a good one. the rays don't draw an audience because of their lack of stars. they cut down on opposing base hits with defensive alignments. but they hit homers (fun!) and they have great pitching (can be fun!).

      I would argue market has way more to do with it than star power but I see the argument.

          Rays were more fun with Longoria and David Price, but their philosophy involves not paying anyone, so that de facto prevents them from developing superstars. And they also don’t invest in making them known. Blake Snell won a Cy Young. A lot of baseball fans still don’t know him.
