Imagine if job-training was integrated into your coursework and an internship was your senior year at a professional service integrated into the school that was also provided as a low cost service to the public that helped subsidize the costs for operations and future students.

This gets talked about all the time. It's the norm in some trade programs, actually. I learned so much more engineering from internships than the classroom. We're teaching inefficiently.
To a degree we do it here as well but what I’m suggesting is that this should be the job training g or “experience needed” that jobs talk about. Imagine basically 4-6 years of secondary education that spit you out a senior associate/ manager plus actually know how to do what

Just partially subsidizing the first few years of new hires, like we do with work study programs already, would probably incentivize some companies to be a little less lean with their workforce.
