They don’t get paid for the summer. All teacher contracts are public. You can find them online. I get paid for 184 days — 180 w/ students, 4 w/o, 7.5 hrs per day. Some random additional duties thrown in. Most teachers defer pay in order to get a paycheck in the summer.

You just described every level of government in this country. Money is always an issue when it comes to helping people but when the military or other sections need more money they always seem to have the budget.
