If people are still going to be owning gas cars by then, we need to make it a lot easier to bike and take the bus. Reduce the demand for all automobiles and then increase the incentive to buy electric.

I don’t think they will. I think I might write a little something on it because I think I provide a little bit of insight being in the used car business. You are absolutely correct in reinvestment in bike/public transport options though.

Folks already make multi-hour long drives to buy the exact vehicle they want. Dealerships in any city just outside CA's borders will see a spike in sales.

Aren't there some tax penalties though? My grandma mentioned there were some when my grandpa bought a car out of state.
