Finance and accounting are often 5 year degrees and people who enter these fields typically have some family in the industry.       It isn't that the "talent" isn't there, it's that these companies don't understand the risk attempting to get one of these degrees is and often not seen as worth it. Couple that with the lack of recruiting within these communities and bam.

      At PwC I worked with 2 black people that were actually born and raised in the United States. I worked at one of the largest offices in the country. There are levels to this stuff and some companies are definitely at fault but ignoring the structural issue gets us no where.

      You're not wrong but you're concentrating on upper end jobs. Not the entry level which is a substantial amounts of jobs in a bank.

          Well yes certain people are paid well enough that they get along and go along. But my Dad hired RHS kids through work experience (primarily Hispanic girls far as I recall) who started as clerks and ended up full adjusters which is a decent enough job. @andyhs @USCX1954

          One, Bernie C. was a couple years older than I and started as a clerk, then Medical Only clerk, then a full adjuster while she went through college at FSU to get her nursing degree. It can be done. Wells Fargo has "don't want to" disease.

          We can discuss pay scales if you like. I'm familiar with the downward pressure on wages since the 70's. you're not wrong but it's a broader issue. If a person WANTS to be a teller they should be able to. If they want to be at PWC they should be able to. @USCX1954 @andyhs
