I disagree, reading the comments is mandatory because it lets you know who is in your community, what they look like, and how they feel about issues that shouldn’t be controversial. These people who are nice enough to use their real names must be remembered, and shamed.

Social media comments don’t reflect the whole community though. Some representation is present in those comments, but not all. When it comes to trolls, it is always best not to feed them, even if they are local.
