As an instructor at FCC (and former FS lecturer), I can confidently say that our faculty are as knowledgeable and in general better trained in teaching pedagogy than the faculty at any four-year institution

I remember when I was at FCC being inundated in summer with (priority) FS students, who preferred taking some classes (like math/science) with FCC professors.

Of course this feels like a long time ago now, but after HS, I went to community college, mostly because I didn’t know my major was going to be. I took the same GE classes for $11 per unit. I completed the CSU GE agreement form, was able to transfer to Fresno St.

For a counter perspective. I went to a private religious university & those first two years were formative in my own understanding & life choices about my faith Without those first two years I would not be the same person. Went on medical mission trips, had a mentor ....
